Boulder’s Sears Tower

In Chicago, when you want a good view, you pay the guy at the Sears Tower Skydeck $17.50, and you board the elevator. Sixty seconds later, you’re 1353 feet above the ground, with grand views of the city.

In Boulder, you hike up to Bear Peak. It costs zero dollars. Four hours later, you’re at the top, 8461 feet above sea level, roughly 3000 feet above the city. Grand views indeed.

Unreal.

Unreal.

I was ready to pay $17.50 for the elevator back down, but apparently there isn’t one.
