How good is…

having friends visit?

Very good. Excellent, even. Especially when the place they’re visiting you is Colorado. Snowshoed for the first time Saturday up in Rocky Mountain National Park, hiked up to the top of Boulder County (Bear Peak) Sunday. Lots of good food, too. In two weeks, I have my next visitor. Whoa! Then a few weeks after that, I have three visitors, all at the same time! Fun stuff. I pretend they’re all coming to see me, but really they’re coming to see the Rockies and use me for my couch.

Gorgeous up here

You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows (hint: from the right)

Oh, we're so cute! At the highest point we'd hit while snowshoeing.

We beat the crowd to the top of Bear Peak. Going down with no spikes on our shoes was rather silly. Literally was sliding down portions on my butt, as it was very steep and very slippery.

Lots of snow plus 60-degree weather means muddy, mucky, sloppy trails.
